Lots of Android users switched teams when Apple released the iPhone SE for under $400. Now, Google is trying to win those users back with the release of its new line of Pixel phones. Google announced the new Pixel 4A is now available for pre-order with tons of great features, including low price, better camera, and more. The tech giant also announced plans for a new line of 5G phones that will be coming out soon. Here’s everything you need to know about the Pixel 4A, Pixel 5, and Pixel 4 with 5G, including the specs, release date, and price for each new model.
Google Pixel 4A Size
The Google Pixel 4A is on the smaller side, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. While it may be small compared to the new line of iPhones, the new Google Pixel is the perfect size for slipping into your pocket.
It’s also big enough to watch movies on the 5.8-inch touchscreen display. This is bigger than the iPhone SE (2nd-generation), which has a 4.7-inch display, but smaller than the iPhone 11, which has a 6.1-inch screen. So far, you can only get the new Pixel in the Just Black color.
Pixel 4A Specs
The Google Pixel 4A has impressive new specs, including 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage space. That means it is faster and has more storage than the base model of the iPhone 11 Pro Max, which only has 4 GB of memory and 64 GB of storage space.
When you order the new Pixel, you will also get three months of Google One, which gives you access to 100 GB of free cloud storage. This means you can back up your files, photos, and more without worrying about taking up too much space on your phone.
Google Pixel 4A Battery
Google’s new cheap smartphone comes with fast charging and “Adaptive Battery” technology. This feature intelligently learns what apps you use and lowers the power for other apps accordingly.
Google claims the Adaptive Battery in the new Pixel will last you “from breakfast to bed.”
Google Pixel 4A Camera
The Google Pixel 4A comes with an impressive 12.2 MP (megapixel) rear camera and an 8 MP front camera. It comes with an HDR+ setting that improves your photos automatically, ensuring they will always be bright and sharp.
And even if you take photos in low light conditions, you will still be happy with the results because this phone comes with the Night Sight feature. This setting gives you good and bright photos, even when they are taken at night or in a dark room.
Improved Google Assistant
The Pixel 4A comes improvements to the Google Assistant, which will help you check on traffic updates, update your schedule, and send text messages to family while on the go. You will even be able to search your photos by subject or by items in the photos.
With the new “Call Screen” feature, the newest Pixel will also filter our robocalls before your phone even rings. It even has a feature that lets you record and instantly transcribe any conversations or speech. You can then search your recordings and transcriptions to make things even easier.
This new phone will also detect when you’ve been in a car accident and automatically call the police for you.
Google Pixel 4A Price and Release Date
The Google Pixel 4A is currently priced at $349. As of now, the Google Pixel 4A is available for pre-order. It will be available in the United States on August 20.
